THE VENUE

Mullumbimby Civic Memorial Hall

Saturday 28th June 2025

a community gathering

Last year the event was a great success. 17 exhibitors created a beautiful space showcasing the care and creativity that reflects the heart of the Northern Rivers.

The expo was very well attended, with people of all ages and at different stages of  life coming together. It was inspiring to see so many young people taking an interest in death care and to meet so many members of the community who brought their ideas, open hearts and curiosity.

You Spoke, We listened...

Your Feedback Matters

We gathered great feedback from both exhibitors and visitors, and this year many of the changes suggested will be implemented along with some new ideas that will be added into the mix.

A Dedicated Speaker Room

This year talks will be held in a separate space to reduce noise and improve engagement.

We will be creating a more intentional program of engaging talks and workshops.

Social Media Promotion & Advertising

We will be creating a coordinated exhibitor promotion strategy for greater event visibility.  Social Media ads will run in addition to traditional advertising.

A small increase in participation costs will enable us to expand the advertising and event improvements suggested, such as signage.

We have also set up some social media pages to start building an online community.

We Created a New Submission Form

Designed to make registration more efficient, this form also helps us gather key information to better promote participants.

This is designed to be easy, but if you need help or have feedback, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Exhibitor Requirement: Provide us with 3 high-quality images, a logo, and a short description of your service (100 words)

About The Organisers

Our Story

This annual event was established by Zenith Virago of the Natural Death Care Centre, with support from dedicated volunteers.

In 2025, the expo is being organised by Chi Chi Menendez, an artist and Deathwalker based in Mullumbimby/Bundjalung.

A Note from Chi Chi:
“I am honoured to have been entrusted to organise and care for Death & Dying Expo. My background spans over 20 years as a creative director and communications consultant working with not-for-profits, luxury brands, and the arts. My goal is to build upon the incredible foundation of this event and evolve it in meaningful ways. Together, we can create an inspiring and thought-provoking expo that fosters dialogue and community for holistic death care.”

Get Involved: Volunteers Needed!

We need volunteers to assist with event promotion and logistics on the day. If you're interested, please get in touch.
